Introducing Full Complement Needle Roller Bearings A needle roller bearing employs small cylindrical rollers, differing from a standard roller bearing by the ratio of diameter to length of the rollers. When this ratio falls within the range of 0.1 to 0.4, it qualifies as a needle roller bearing. Compared to ball bearings, needle bearings boast a larger surface area in contact with the bearing’s outer surfaces. Typically, these bearings consist of a needle cage that arranges and holds the rollers, the rollers themselves, and an outer race, sometimes integrated into the housing. Radial needle bearings are cylindrical and employ rollers aligned parallel to the shaft axis. Conversely, thrust needle bearings lie flat and utilize a radial arrangement of needles. Full complement bearings feature solid inner and outer rings with rib-guided cylindrical rollers. By accommodating the maximum number of rolling elements, they exhibit exceptionally high radial load-bearing capacity, making them ideal for compact design applications.
